Hi everyone :)

We are two Polish people and we are planning to visit the beautiful mountains of Tara National Park in a few days. We were wondering if anyone could help with a few questions about accommodation and transport in the area:

ACCOMMODATION: We'll be taking a train/bus from Belgrade to Uzice and then - probably - to Bajina Basta, cause it looks like it's the closest to the park. But we're not sure what's the best place to look for accommodation to visit the park from - is it Bajina Basta, or is it better to find a place to sleep in Uzice or Zlatibor and make day trips from there? Or maybe in the park itself? And finally, is it ok just to go there and look for a place to stay after arrival or is it necessary to book in advance?

TRANSPORT: We don't have our own car and we couldn't find any information on local transport. Are there any small buses going to the Tara park from Uzice/Zlatibor/Bajina Basta? Or is Bajina Basta close enough to the park to start hiking from there?

That's a lot of questions, we know ;) If anyone could help with any of them, we'd be very grateful!

Thanks,

Ania

you have directly bus for mountain Tara and maybe it is am best choice. At mountain Tara have plenty places for accomodation also, and for sure is better then be at mountain Zlatibor.

Wow, thanks, that's gonna help a lot! :) From what I see there's plenty of places to sleep, do you think there will budget options, too? I saw some hostel-like facilities in Mitrovac, but not sure if the bus goes that far..

amitrovac is so nace place. from there have wonderfull landscape. Anyway, whole West Serbia is nice, and have plenty places for visit. Between Tara and Zlatibor have Mecavnik, woodenvillage, can visit Visegrad (another side of river Drina - Republic Serbska, Bosnia, and wonderfull bridge over river Drina (Ivo Andric got Nobel prize for book The bridge over river Drina). Near Bajina Basta have Perucac, acumulation lake, and am shortest river at world, name is Godina (year, because is long 365 meters) at village Vrelo (translating Spring). Have pleasant stay at Serbia and welcome

You just must make right plan for all, depend of free time what you have. look it for more information about river Drina:

about etno village Mecavnik, look:

it is very near Bosnian border and city Visegrad where is famouse bridge over Drina.

From Mecavnik and Jatare have several buses to Visegrad and for Uzice also (from where can take train for Belgrade and Tara also)
